Fear and Phobias
Do you find yourself in a situation when you cannot get past the intrusive patten of thinking “What if ”
That small thought can prevent you from doing the things you so want to do. Whether it’s a paralysing fear of, for example, flying or spiders, some people have an absolute fear about attending a dental or other medical appointment, as well as any form of medical intervention. I can help you to manage these feelings. Perhaps you will be able to turn “What if” into “So what.”
There are many strategies that can be used, and a flexible approach to working with your individual needs and sensory strengths is employed. There is no such thing as a silly fear or phobia, although frequently we hear the condition being mocked and, in some situations, completely dismissed as being imaginary. This is far from the case, as you may experience sweating, heart racing, trembling, shutting down, or running away. The mind turns to the fight, flight, or freeze reactions, which are inbuilt to keep us safe. However, the reaction can be overwhelming. Through mind therapy, you will learn to manage these feelings and have the freedom to do what you want or need to do without the horrible associated feelings.
You have come to the right place, and I promise that at Onward & Upwards, you will be treated with the utmost respect and a warm welcome.
